You check a box, and if you don't, the app forgives you instantly — no cost, no witness, no permanent record. So you're both the one making the promise and the one grading it, and that's an easy system to quietly let slide. Solution: Witness makes a promise cost something. You stake MON against a commitment, invite someone to witness it, and when the deadline hits, they — not you — confirm whether you kept your word onchain.
