MonEx

MonEx is a browser-based Monanimal trainer built around Monad culture. Players sign in with X, catch Mons by tweeting at monexmonad with a catch command (1 to 50 Monballs per attempt), and grow a party to fight through a pixel office campaign, patrol for gear, finish daily quests, and climb the tower. The X bot reads those tweets, runs the catch RNG, syncs Mons into each player’s cloud save, and replies with a catch card image people can share. The game runs on Cloudflare Pages with a Workers API and KV for saves, catch state, and sessions. The home page wild log shows live catches from the community. Most social games only use X for promotion. MonEx makes it part of how you play. Your tweets are commands, your handle is your trainer ID, and caught Mons show up in your party or box without extra setup. That keeps onboarding simple: log in, tweet, play. It also gives the community a fun way to show off pulls and builds. Building it taught us a lot about keeping catch API state separate from in-game saves, processing tweets without double-counting, and parsing flexible player commands without breaking the bot. Catch card images meant figuring out edge rendering on Workers, including bundling fonts so text actually shows up. Rate limits and early campaign balance reminded us that day-one fun matters as much as the social hook. If new players bounce in battle, they never get to the catch loop.
