Monad Animal Defend

Monad Animal Defend is a tower defense game built on Monad testnet where players spend a small amount of testnet $MON to start each run and defend the map by placing and upgrading animal-themed towers. The game features two main towers: Chog, an AoE tower that chains splash damage to nearby enemies within a 2-tile radius, and Molandak, a high-damage single-target archer tower. Players use in-game gold to buy towers, and each upgrade doubles both the tower’s damage and the gold cost, creating a simple but strategic scaling system. Each wave starts with 30 enemies and increases by 5 enemies per wave, making the game progressively harder and more rewarding over time. I built this project to explore how an onchain game loop on Monad can combine wallet-based entry, browser gameplay, and strategy mechanics in a lightweight and fun format. Through this build, I learned how to design a basic tower defense system, structure upgrade economics, and think about how blockchain can be integrated into gameplay without putting every game action fully onchain.
