ChainSpend is a decentralized expense tracker built on the Monad Testnet that allows users to securely record, manage, search, and export expenses on-chain using an EVM-compatible wallet. The project addresses the challenge of centralized expense tracking by demonstrating how blockchain can provide transparent, user-controlled record keeping while maintaining a simple and familiar user experience. Through building ChainSpend, I gained practical experience developing Solidity smart contracts, integrating them with a React frontend using Ethers.js, deploying a decentralized application, and improving the user experience through testing, debugging, and iterative refinement. ChainSpend was designed and built as a solo project during the Monad Hackathon.
